Every second Saturday, we gather as a community to pick up, prune, and clean the park. The fun for the whole family starts at 9:00am and we end around Noon. Join us!

Park Succession Planning
You’re invited to join us at a community meeting hosted by Friends of Jefferson Square Park and Dickinson Square Park to learn more about Park Trees of Tomorrow and help shape the future of our park’s tree canopy.
Park Trees of Tomorrow is a pilot project led by Fairmount Park Conservancy, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, and local Park Friends groups. Every park — and its tree canopy — is unique. This project gathers community input to better understand how neighbors use their park and how trees shape their park experience, in support of the Philly Tree Plan, a 10-year effort to grow and care for the city’s trees.

Jefferson Square Tree Survey
Fall 2025 Edition
Jefferson Square was chosen for a Tree Study led by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Fairmount Park Conservancy. This study will help us learn how neighbors use the park and why trees matter to them! This work will support the Philly Tree Plan, a 10-year plan to grow and care for the city’s trees.

This is a donation-based (pay-as-you-wish) program.

Snowpeople populate the park
With more than ten inches of snow over three days, neighbors took to the park to create more than a dozen snowpeople and other creations. Here are some of the results of the fun in the snow.
Holiday Lighting Cheer in our Park
For the past 15 years, Friends of Jefferson Square has sponsored the annual holiday lighting in the park, and this year was our most ambitious display yet. However lovely, the lights to come at a cost. Please consider a donation to help us keep ‘the lights on’ for next year. You can donate via PayPal (link on home page). Friends of Jefferson Square Park is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible.
